Shooting is one of the most reliable and humane methods of pest control, offering a safe and discreet way to deal with problem species that can’t be trapped or baited effectively. While the icons above show the pests I’m most commonly asked to manage, I can assist with any vermin or pest that is suitable and legal to be controlled by rifle or air-rifle, always with the landowner’s permission and in line with safety, licensing and animal-welfare guidelines. Common Rural Pest Problems

The Framlingham countryside is surrounded by open farmland, smallholdings and equestrian yards, which can attract persistent vermin. Rabbits undermine paddocks and leave uneven ground that risks injury to horses, while rats contaminate feed stores, chew cables and spread disease through droppings. Feral pigeons foul barns, beams and hay stores, carrying bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli that pose risks to animals and people alike.

I operate with quiet, moderated air rifles for discreet, effective results and only take safe, ethically justified shots. Visits are arranged at convenient times to suit you, and I can also advise on prevention to help protect feed, bedding and grain from future infestations. Where needed, I can provide written confirmation of insurance and risk assessment for farm or stable compliance.

Are you insured?

Yes, I’m fully insured. However, in all my years of shooting, this has never been necessary as safety is always the number one priority.

What do you need from me?

Just permission to be on your land. You must be the landowner or leaseholder to grant permission. During my visit, I’ll ask you to sign a simple consent form confirming you’ve given permission for me to shoot on your land.

Framlingham’s surrounding farmland and smallholdings often face recurring pest problems through the seasons.
